East Ramapo school board tries Spanish translator

East Ramapo’s first attempt at offering a Spanish translator at a school board meeting falls flat with audience.

East Ramapo school officials provided a translator at a board meeting Tuesday in response to months of demands by the district’s large Spanish-speaking community.

The inclusion attempt didn’t go over well with protesters, however, who’ve gathered by the hundreds at seven consecutive rallies since September to demand the district bolster services for students whose first language isn’t English.
